Mrs Glamourpuss finally finds her sunglasses!

Genuine Polaroid Sunglasses - what more could you want?

It’s February – which is not exactly the sort astute observation you expect from a fashion blog, but one that’s nonetheless absolutely true. We should take heart – optimism is a plant that thrives even in the grimmest months. As much as it’s February now, we can all rest assured that May will also make an appearance. Then June, July and, surprisingly, August. With any luck there will be sunshine. But even if there isn’t, one will need a great pair of sunglasses – preferably with high-quality polarized lenses.  Even on those tiresome overcast days, glare can make you squint. And who needs more wrinkles? Always look for polarized lenses if, like Mrs Glamourpuss, you want to keep the delicate tissue around your eyes as smooth as…well…words escape me. But suffice to say as smooth as realistically possible. We do not advocate extreme plastic surgery that may leave your skin looking like that of a pale newt.  Remember that an expression of permanent surprise is suitable only for young children, or people listening too closely to the voices inside their heads.

Polaroid Sunglasses has launched a Heritage collection based on what must be a rich catalogue of vintage designs. 1950 Broadway are my absolute favourite. They’re elegant, surprising and as good with a pair of jeans as they are with a fabulous black dress. The two-tone look is as fresh today as it was in the late 1950s.

  1. Personally – I like the pink cat-eye sunglasses on the site – http://www.polaroidsunglasses.co.uk/sunglasses/vintage_designer_sunglasses/index.htm

  2. Here at Polaroid Eyewear we’re so glad that Mrs Glamourpuss appreciates the vintage style of our heritage collection. Why not take a look at 1930 Swing and 1950 Marilyn if you’re looking for other options. We’d love to know what you think of them.

  3. A Lancome make-up artist friend always told me “Honey, wear good sunglasses even when it is raining. Any squinting, even on cloudy days, can lead straight to eye wrinkles.” So, there you are. Wear those polarized lens. And, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the ones you picked.
